PST VERIFICATION COMPUTATIONS, SECOND EDITION

This directory holds the numerical and symbolic computations referenced
throughout "Precausal Substrate Theory", second edition, by number
("Computation N", or "Comp N"). Each computation_NN_se.py is a self-contained,
runnable check of one claim in the book. The per-computation descriptions and
the rendered source are published at https://meelker.nl/pst-se/computations,
where every script can also be run in the browser, and the book's Appendix B
maps each claim to its script.


ENVIRONMENT

  - numpy        (the core dependency, used by most scripts)
  - scipy, sympy, mpmath (needed by a few scripts: special functions,
                  tridiagonal eigenvalues, exact algebra)

RUNNING A COMPUTATION
---------------------
Each script prints its verification block to standard output; the scripts from
computation_202_se.py onward end with ALL CHECKS PASSED or SOME CHECKS FAILED, the
earlier ones print their checks inline. Run from inside this directory: fourteen
scripts import a sibling by module name (61, 63, 64, 65, 150, 153, 157, 203, 206, 213
and 214 import computation_59_se; 151 imports 142; 173 and 176 import 123; 203 also
imports 157; 213 and 214 import 206), which resolves only when the working directory
is the one holding the scripts:

  cd computations        # computations-se/ in the repository
  python3 computation_213_se.py

The first edition's scripts (computation_NN.py, without the _se marker) are a
separate, frozen set that was published at https://meelker.nl/pst/computations until
the site swap of 2026-10-15; that address now leads here.
