Appendix B Computation Scripts

Each computation cited in the body is checked symbolically or numerically by the Python script listed below. Every script can be run in the browser, or downloaded, at the companion site, meelker.nl/pst-se/computations, where it appears as computation_NN_se.py; the longest, Computations 64 and 150, take several minutes, and every quoted number is the script’s own output. The register is the complete research record, not only the cited subset: a handful of entries are exploratory probes or routes that a later computation superseded, and the text does not cite them. They are kept because the record of what was tried, and abandoned, is part of the account.

Each result carries one provenance tag recording the character of its verification: [PROOF] a rigorous proof or exact symbolic/algebraic construction; [NUMERICAL] a numerical or finite-size check from which an asymptotic is inferred; [SURROGATE] a result established for an i.i.d. surrogate or toy model standing in for a not-yet-proven emergence-determined quantity; [EMPIRICAL] an empirical or observational bound, renormalisation-group equation (RGE) test, or comparison to data. A result is current unless its tag notes that a later computation supersedes (or partially retracts) it; readers weighing rigour should consult the provenance tag and the description. Every [SURROGATE] row ends by naming what its surrogate stands in for, and the consistency audit requires it; a route tried on a framing later abandoned is tagged by what it computed, not as a surrogate.
